I grew up around horses so Mister Ed was one of favorite TV shows too.

I also liked The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis... I was a bit young to understand some of the humor when it first aired in the early 60s, but I caught the adult humor I missed when it was in reruns. I had a crush on Tuesday Weld...

Loved 'Dobie Gillis' - very astute and witty. Let's not forget 'The Andy Griffith Show' and this one... We have that series on disk and watch one episode per week in perpetuity. Just as if it was still on the air. So well written and performed, and done in a way that is timeless. 50 years later it hardly ever seems dated. In the later 60's 'All In The Family' broke down barriers for social and political commentary. Maybe coming off as more dated because of that.

Loved 'Dobie Gillis' - very astute and witty. And some very fine acting by veteran actors like Frank Faylen. Tuesday Weld, Warren Beatty and Bob Denver started their careers on this show.

Big mistake by CBS. Those were among the funniest shows on TV. We missed them terribly when they went off the air. I liked Petticoat Junction. I had a crush on Bobbie Jo... Lori Saunders

Let's not forget 'The Andy Griffith Show' I grew up in Edenton NC It was just like Mayberry! Andy Griffith filmed a Matlock episode there years later. The deputy sheriff was just like Barney Fife...

"Petticoat Junction" was my favorite, and I also liked "Family Affair", "That Girl", "My Three Sons", "Laugh In", "The Smothers Brothers" and probably a lot more than I can remember right now. It seems like I watched a lot of TV when I was growing up but I still remember being outside a lot and reading too. Oh yeah, "The Brady Bunch" premiered in 1969 so that counts as a sixties show. I got that in syndication too all through the 70's. When my kids were little they watched it and I could tell them in the first minute what episode it was going to be. LOL

I also liked The Patty Duke Show and Gidget. I had a crush on Patty Duke and Sally Field... It was fun being a teenage boy in the 60s!

A couple of years later, Patty Duke was Neely O'Hara in The Valley Of The Dolls...

What a great scene!
Having fun, kiddies? Don't mind me! Go right ahead!. I'll watch. You'd better run, you little tramp. How dare you contaminate my pool! Here, maybe this will disinfect it.
