Do you know/like this band? It was the group of Jimi Hendrix's pupil Randy California. Their most well known record is the cult album Twelve Dreams Of Dr. Sardonicus, released in November 1970. But previously they had released other three albums, including some great songs.
Spirit was their debut album, released in January 1968.
In December 1968 they released The Family That Plays Together, including their biggest hit: "I Got A Line On You".
Their third album, Clear Spirit, was released in October 1969.
As a bonus, here's "1984", a non-album single released in February 1970, one of their very best songs ever.

Saw them live one time in '69. Quite good. Unfortunately for them, the Steve Miller Band opened for them and stole the show. Poor guys spent half their set listening to howls from the crowd to bring Steve back.

Rather dug this band....mainstays Randy Wolfe aka California, Cass aka Ed Cassidy saw the twosome in various incarnations of 'Spirit' mainly diff bassists.....Walter Egan, Liberty, Larry Knight, Dave Waterbury......one of the shows that stood out was the band's 1984 Christmas Gig in Washington DC at the 9:30 Club.....we travelled from Va. Beach to DC to see the show and drove back to the house that early A.M. hours morning!!!! Had Randy sign a bunch of discs too!
BTW...was a rather big Jay Ferguson fan .... Jo Jo Gunne and his 5 solo albums before he went into tapping 'soundtracks' i.e. The Terminator etc.
Liked John Locke's tenure with the Scottish Band, Nazareth....yeah that band with screamer Dan McCafferty.....the 2XS lp, esp!
tragic what happened to Randy back in '97 and with Cass' passng not too long ago......the end of the 'Spirit' legacy.....too bad
